Skye's 8th Birthday - Bumble Bee Birthday Party

We celebrated Skye's 8th Birthday {my grand daugther}.  Bumble Bee was her birthday theme.  Erica {my daughter} was afraid that the Bumble Bee theme would not be suitable for an 8th years old, but it actually turned out elegant.  The combinations of yellow, black and white polka dots were the theme colors for our birthday girl.  She even dressed the part.  Her birthday outfit was also Bumble Bee given by her Titi Vicky {my sister-in-law}.  Her cake was baked and designed by our talented Titi Slyvia{my sister-in-law}. My nephew {Joco} designed and created this beautiful Bumble Bee Birthday Banner and my sister {Ate Fe} sent it to me from the Philippines.  My mom saw this black and white polka date table cloth.  I baked chocolate and stawberry cupcakes and made my own version of Bumble Bees using M&M. Erica then rented a hall and the whole family decorated the place including my nieces {Sunshine and Sapphire}. Erica and I went to Michaels and found these humongous sun flowers as our center piece for the table.  The rest of the table was just exquisite {if I may say so}.

Our Birthday Girl, Skye! {soooo  pretty with her Bumble Bee dress!}

I was searching and actually found the Bumble Bee giveaway bags at Oriental Trading.  I fell in love with it and bought it.  I thought the bags were too small.  When I started putting all the goodies, it was just right!

Happy Valentines Day!

Wishing you a Happy Valentines Day honey!  I know that you are happy celebrating it in Heaven.  As much as I am still strunggling I know that it will get better.  I still feel that this is a nightmare that I need to wake up.  As painful as it is, I know that you are happy and no longer suffering.  I love you till death do as part.  Until we meet again.  I love you forever....

New Years 2012

My family and I celebrated our New Year with a big bang this year. 2012 is going to be the best year ever for ALL of us.  Good health, good life, happiness and prosperous 2012!

I decided to make our center table with lots of sweets.  The theme I created was snowman.  I created cupcakes with snowman.  As you can see, this was my own version of cupcake snowman.  My own DIY cupcake snowman.  I also created my very first version of cake pops.  It was not perfect, but I knew that I will get better the next time I create another cake pops.

I also added different fruits on the table.   I followed our Philippines traditions to put 12 kinds of fruits on the table for the coming year.  According to my mom, the 12 different fruits represent prosperous New Year.  The different sweet desserts on the table came from my husband.  It was our tradition and will always be part of our traditions since my husband loved sweets.

We also has our very own Chef Bobby (my brother).  He cooked different food that were absolutely delicious.  We also had our very own DJ Archie (my brother).  All in all, our 2012 are the best year yet!!!
